| Artist's Reception for
DAVID EDDINGTON:
Endangered Bridges Over the L.A. River
August 10, 2008
Frank Pictures Gallery, Bergamot Station

Nearly 200 people came out on the evening of August 10 to see this remarkable exhibition and meet the artist.

Eddington's large-scale paintings of the historic L.A. River bridges filled the gallery, along with selected vintage photographs by legendary photojournalist Horace Bristol.

Guests perused a range of materials about the Conservancy and our efforts to save the historic L.A. River bridges, including the bilingual booklet and kids' guide we produced this spring in conjunction with the Getty Conservation Institute and Friends of the Los Angeles River.

The reception was a great opportunity to make new friends and spread the word about the beauty, history, and plight of the historic river bridges.
